2007 Ed Lynch Memorial Shamrock Tournament

Friday, March 16 – Sunday, March 18, 2007

RULES:
1. All teams must be prepared to play their first game at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 16. Every effort will be made to accommodate out-of-town teams. All Games will be played at Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain or Union Sports Arena.

2. Every team participating in the Shamrock Tournament will play four games.

3. There will be four teams in the Mite A, Mite B Division and six teams in the Mite C Division. The preliminary rounds will consist of three games for each team.

4. All games will consist of two–10 minute periods and one-12 minute period. The Final Round will consist of three-12 minute periods. There will be no overtime in preliminary round games.

5. Mite A and B teams will be allowed a maximum of twenty rostered players. (Some flexibility, within reason, will be allowed for Mite C rosters.) NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL USA HOCKEY ROSTER. No roster changes will be allowed after the tournament first game. All players will be required to sign in before each game.

6. After all preliminary games have been played, each team will be seeded within its division. The criteria for determining seeding is as follows:
a. Points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss)
b. Head-to-head competition (of the teams that are tied with respect to points, if one of those teams beat the other in head-to-head competition, then that team will be given a higher seed)
c. Lowest goals against
d. Goal differential (total goals for – total goals against)

7. The final round will be played as follows:
a. The Fifth and Six seeds in the Mite C division will play for fifth place.
b. The third and fourth seeds in Mite A, Mite B, Mite C division will play for third place.
c. The first and second seeds in Mite A, Mite B, Mite C division will play for the championship
d. There will be overtime in the final round of games; the games will be played until there is a winner. In the event of a tie, the tie-break procedure will be as follows:
i. Five minute overtime period
ii. A shoot-out if the game remains tied after the five minutes of overtime have been played

To apply for entry into the tournament, please remit your $825.00 tournament entry fee (checks made out to NJDYHC), -This Year there will be NO spectator fee!

Once your application has been accepted, you can expect to receive confirmation of your acceptance and a tournament schedule in the mail no later than March 1, 2007.
